STRESS

A lecturer when explaining stress management to an audience, Raised a glass of water and asked 'How heavy is this glass of water?' Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g. The lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it.

Half Full?

If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.' He continued, 'And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, As the burden becomes increasingly heavy, We won't be able to carry on.' 'As with the glass of water,You have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.' 'So, before you return home tonight, 1. Put the burden of work down. 2. Don't carry it home. 3. You can pick it up tomorrow.Whatever burdens you're carrying now. Let them down for a moment if you can.' Tune in tomorrow for some tried and true ways to relieve that STRESS. Tim

SPACES

Philippians 4:6-7 “Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers…It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” In today’s world, ‘speed’ is possibly our most valued commodity. But, being hooked on hurry causes us to miss ‘our spaces.’ - Space happens between work, school, home and the rest of our blurry life. Space corrects our vision. Spaces allow our thoughts to land and allow the next thought to take flight.

Space

Hitting the ‘space bar’ between words allows a sentence to make sense. A sentence (much like our lives) without spaces between the words cause us to overlook it’s meaning. Unfortunately, a sentence that could’ve been inspirational is now overlooked as Indecipherable and meaningless. - In contrast, it’s in the ‘spaces’ of our lives where we often experience Jesus, things make sense and we find meaning. I DON’T WANT TO LIMP INTO HEAVEN!

I don’t want to limp into heaven
I want to break the tape at full pace!
I want to be more focused on Christ, more passionate about His service!

Possible because one of the greatest gifts of walking with the Lord… the further we go in Christ, the more real He is.

DO YOU CHOOSE HAPPY?

Happiness is not a word we can understand from the dictionary. It has to be experienced, but by the very root of the word, happiness can be up and down, b/c it’s determined by what “happens” to us.
