I've Prayed - What's Next?

Hey Marlon. Thanks so much for taking the time to write to us. But even more importantly, thanks for praying with me the other day at the close of the show. I just wanted to let you know that praying to receive Christ is by far the most important thing u have ever done. Im honored that I could be a part of that process. I pray that you have experienced Jesus in your life and are now ready to learn and experience more and more of Him.
-- If u will allow me to give you some very good advice; -It is to please begin READING the Bible now. It will fill u with His power as well as the knowledge of His will for your new life in Him. If you don't have a copy of scripture that is easy for you to read, may I suggest 'The New Living Bible' or 'The Message.' They're awesome and easy to read. I also really like the New American Standard for a straight up non-parapharased version. Start with the book of John. Then Acts, Philippians, Ist and 2nd Timothy, Romans and all the Psalms are great foundations to start with.
-Begin to PRAY. If u don't know how, just talk to Him. Just like you would to a friend that knows you really really well. He will never ever get tired of talking to you. The more time you talk to Him the closer He becomes. And like you would treat any good friend, don't forget to not do all the talking, listen to Him too. Then do what He says. It takes faith, but He will reward it. I promise...because He promises!
-Also please find a good CHURH. And if u have not already done so, please go to http://www.relevantmagazine.com/god/church-directory It will help you find a good church in your area. The fellowship of likeminded believers is going to be important to your new walk with God. This new walk was never supposed to be done alone, so please don't try. -Its also very important to start SERVING God by serving His people as well as those that don't know Him yet. In this new life of service, we keep what we have by giving it away. But at the same time, don't forget He will never leave you [... Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down nor relax My hold on you! Assuredly not! So we take comfort and be encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm. I will not fear or dread or be terrified. What can man do to me?] - Hebrews 13: 5b-6 amplified version.
A part of SERVING is sharing Christ with those that God puts before you. When u do, He will give you the words and the courage. It does not have to be perfect. Just tell them of your new experience, strength and hope that you have found in Christ. That will be enough. Christ is always responsible for the outcome of your words, not you. He is the One 'on trial,' in their heart, not you. You and people just like u are the very reason we make every episode of MXTV. So to say that I am excited that you prayed with me is a BIG understatement ! In fact you and those like you are the reason I get up every morning...for the past 30 years of ministry, So THANKS !
