“It seems like there's therapy for everything these days, including sending photos of yourself in various states of undress to members of the opposite sex on the Internet. After a picture of his crotch appeared on his Twitter feed in May, Rep. Anthony Weiner admitted last week to sending "messages and photos of explicit nature with about six women in the last three years." Over the weekend, Democratic leaders called for his resignation; Monday, the White House called Weiner's scandal a "distraction." And President Obama told NBC's "Today" that if he were in Weiner's position, he would resign.” CNN

We all have ‘shock feature’ on our faces, but in reality let’s take a look back in time. This has truly been going on for ages and ages. The medium has just become different over time. It wasn’t a quick ‘pic’ sent over wires to a billion people at a time, it was a covert unleashing of a streaker in the 70’s that revealed ‘the goods’. There were prostitutes standing on street corners looking for their next client and giving a bit of a ‘sneak peek’ in the 1800’s. In the times of Romans, there was "unlimited sexual license".

All of this led me to God’s word, and understanding in a different way now more than ever why He gave us explicit and detailed rules. Exodus and Leviticus are shock full of ‘do not’s’. Some of them things we’ve never even thought of doing. God knew our hearts. Where we would go with the gift he gave to us. He warned us in detail. Mark 7:21 “
For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder…”

Thank you, Lord, that you loved us enough, through all our sin, through all our disobedience, through all our thoughts, to send your son Jesus Christ, to die for us and cover our sins, so that we can be set free of sin once and for all. It amazes me consistently that my Father loves me this much. God cannot be around sin, He therefore, though we as humans cannot even imagine this kind of love, sent His son to die for us! FOR ME!, for YOU! --

STRESS

A lecturer when explaining stress management to an audience, Raised a glass of water and asked 'How heavy is this glass of water?' Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g. The lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it.

Half Full?

If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.' He continued, 'And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, As the burden becomes increasingly heavy, We won't be able to carry on.' 'As with the glass of water,You have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.' 'So, before you return home tonight, 1. Put the burden of work down. 2. Don't carry it home. 3. You can pick it up tomorrow.Whatever burdens you're carrying now. Let them down for a moment if you can.' SPACES

Philippians 4:6-7 “Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers…It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” In today’s world, ‘speed’ is possibly our most valued commodity. But, being hooked on hurry causes us to miss ‘our spaces.’ - Space happens between work, school, home and the rest of our blurry life. Space corrects our vision. Spaces allow our thoughts to land and allow the next thought to take flight.

Space

Hitting the ‘space bar’ between words allows a sentence to make sense. A sentence (much like our lives) without spaces between the words cause us to overlook it’s meaning. Unfortunately, a sentence that could’ve been inspirational is now overlooked as Indecipherable and meaningless. - In contrast, it’s in the ‘spaces’ of our lives where we often experience Jesus, things make sense and we find meaning.
